Terms and Conditions
Project completion & ownership
Once a deposit has been taken prior to project commencement, a project will be deemed to have been started and the remainder shown on your invoice must be settled before any project can be deemed to be completed. Once a project is completed, then you will recieve the rights and ownership to what you have paid for.
Use of images in projects
Any images supplied to us by a client for use on their projects, is the sole responsibility of the client as we cannot be held liable for any copyright infringement. Occasionally images may be supplied from ourselves through our own photography or via means of purchasing stock photos from various web suppliers, but these may be subject to an additional fee, which you will be informed of.
Domain registration
In instances where a client has asked us to register a domain name for their website, it will remain our property until the project is deemed to be completed. At the point of website completion, we will transfer the domain name ownership to the client.
Your right to cancel
Should a client wish to cancel a project that has already commenced, they will be responsible for the remainder of their invoice if more than 14 days have passed since they were informed of the project being at the 60% completion point. If a cancellation is made within 14 days of being informed of the project being at the 60% completion point, then the client does not need to pay any more of the remainder of their invoice. Clients will be informed of the project being at the 60% completion stage by email or by post.
Your responsibility towards projects
We urge clients to provide ALL or as much information as they can do, which relates to their project - in particular with websites. Without a clear specification of your requirements, the website underpinning canend up poorly constructed and results may not be satisfactory. Once clients have paid their deposit and given us their specification, the information supplied will be deemed to be final. It is our discretion as to whether or not a surcharge is added to the invoice, for changes to made to the specification by the client, after the project has begun. If inadequate information has been supplied to us, we will assume that the entire conceptualisation of the project is down to our creative talents and the client will not have much of a say in the overall design of the website. Please be specific about your requirements.
Payments & surcharges
For website design, clients are required to pay 60% of the quoted fee up front before any work can commence. Once the project is deemed to be at 60% completion, the client will be invoiced for the remainer of the quoted amount. The client can pay this immediately or at the end of project completion. For any additional changes made to the website design after the client has approved the work at the 60% completion stage, there will be an additional surcharge added to the invoice. Payment methods are cash, cheques and bank wire transfer. All payments are non-refundable.
Website maintenance
Free website maintenance is offered on our various website packages. This is limited to editing basic text copy and images which do not require any editing. For any additional changes to the website you may be asked to pay a fee on an ad-hock basis for the work requested.
Web hosting
Our website package prices include website hosting which we source privately from a third party. If clients wish to arrange their own website hosting, it is on the understanding that the price quoted for our website package will not drop down by the same amount the client paid for their hosting service elsewhere. All website quotations are at our discretion and our decision is final. We are not responsible for any problems that arise as a result of web hosting servers suffering from downtime. If however a client is having continual problems with the web hosting service selected by us, we will (as a gesture of goodwill) arrange for the website to be hosted elsewhere at no extra cost to the client.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
All websites designed by us will have a good infrastructure for having good potential to rank well in search engines. However we will not be held responsible for unexpectedly bad results as it is the clients responsibility to ensure their website is constantly being promoted on the web. Despite our lack of liabilty here though, we are able to provide further advice and help, should this become a problem.
